About Elliot
Elliot is a Swiss-Californian potter who is based in Ventura. His main driving inspirations are nature and imagination. His sculptural vases are often influenced by his adventures in the natural world to inspire their form or patterns. He is very drawn to textures and experimenting with how different surface designs interact with a piece and the glazes on it. In addition to his craft Elliot enjoys cooking and baking as well as spending time outdoors; camping, surfing or snowboarding.
He primarily makes wheel thrown, functional pieces. He creates both dinnerware sets as well as one of a kind sculptural vases which he alters and adds designs onto after throwing them. His pieces are then glazed in a variety of methods including spraying, dipping and brushing. He uses a variety of firing techniques depending on what is provided at the studios he works at including mid-fire electric kiln, high-fire gas kiln and Raku.
